I'm immune compromised having lost my spleen in an auto accident 30 years ago. I spoke to my Endo about whether my measles vax was still good since I was born in 1955. She spoke to an infectious doc and he said to get a Titer test done. Because the measles vax is live, it matters if you don't have a spleen. Glad I have such a good doc and good insurance (so far).

Your doc is COMPLETELY correct. When I finished my cancer treatment, I had titers done for everything I could to see what vaccines I needed. The live vaccines (like MMR) are contraindicated in immunocompromised people. It's why we need all the healthy people to get the vaccines. Good luck with your titer!

Worm Brain's approach to health care is in faithful adherence to Der Fuehrer Tromph's universal health plan: If seriously ill, die quickly.

That's always been the Rethuglican approach to "healthcare".

RFK Jr has backtracked on the measles outbreak in West Texas and New Mexico but he also said that vaccination is a “personal choice”, which is certainly not helpful. According to the national foundation

of infectious diseases, however, vitamin A does have a role in measles treatment, particularly in malnourished children.

I pointed out that it's important in malnourished populations, but you'd be hard pressed to find an American who lacks acceptable Vitamin A levels.
