The Selzer Poll
As you’ve certainly heard, according to Ann Selzer, pollster extraordinaire, Harris is beating Trump in IOWA.

Bottom line: white, rural, women over 65 are voting 63 - 28, Harris.
We proud Boomer women came of age when abortion was legal, birth control was easy to get, and unlike our mothers, we could get credit cards, car loans, mortgages, etc. under our own names. We want our granddaughters to have what we had.
Of note, the last Democrat to carry the over-65 demographic was Al Gore in 2000.
Even if Selzer is off by a little, it reinforces that the “polls” are all herded into ties, and their secret sauce makes sure it stays that way. It will thrill me when Nate Silver is wrong AGAIN. It means that the likelihood is that Harris will beat the Convicted Felon in more places than we think, and certainly at least 5 of the 7 swing states.
I was out canvassing this morning and people are excited, and I have found a few undecideds, but mostly Harris voters (already voted or showing up on Tuesday) and NOT ONE going for the dark side. The Harris campaign says they were hitting 2,000 doors PER MINUTE yesterday in PA. (I saw it on Twitter, so it might not be true - but I was out canvassing yesterday and ran into other canvassers.)
I’ve got a list of 91 undecideds (most on the Gaza issue) to make phone calls to — and I’m going to do that and then go out and canvass some more.
When we work, we win.
Good news, I was out yesterday too. They only gave me names of unreached D's and I's, so I also came away feeling positive overall. I'm glad more white women are seeing through the B.S.! But just to remind you, as someone who is a bit older than you and a middle boomer, older boomer women were well into their '20s when Roe was decided. They grew up when sex was dangerous. Unless they were wealthy enough to get to New York, had access to a liberal psychiatrist (my friend's older sister convinced one she would kill herself), or lucky enough to to have a safe illegal abortion, the years of the sexual revolution were still fraught for women and girls.
What do you say to those who are undecided or not voting for Harris because of Gaza, Jessica? Bernie Sanders told Ali Belsher (sp?) that Trump was “in bed with Netanyahu” and would be far worse on this issue. Trump has told Netanyahu to “finish the job.” Yet none of that seems to persuade these voters.
