Feed the hungry is a good mantra to start the day. Hoping and praying all goes well with your procedure today. Thank you for all you do...a shame you get hate mail...and yet....you persist. ❤️🙏👏👍
Good morning Jessica. I hope today goes well for you, and my best wishes to Fiona. I agree with your post. I live in Valley Township and I was wondering what would be the best way to get involved with insuring that those in my community do not go hungry. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. My major focus is tge children. They sre innocent of this nightmare. Good luck today.
There is a saying in Irish - Ní thuigheann an sách an seang (pronounced Nee higg-unn un sockh un shang)
“The well-fed does not understand the lean.”
It conveys the idea that someone who is well-off or comfortable cannot truly understand the struggles of someone who is less fortunate. While I think it definitely refers to our politicians, I think it also is the mindset of the vast majority of the population who are not food insecure, housing insecure, psychologically or emotionally stressed about money, working numerous jobs...
We do a great job of generalizing things but do a really poor job of expressing the facts and reality of government policy - good and bad.
But, as a simple slogan to start things off, I nominate "Fuck This Shit". Yes, it is generalizing, but it also covers a multitude of issues and can be used for individual issues as well as a blanket statement.
Whatever the procedure (?) let if be successful and painless.
I don't think Feed the Hungry will succeed as a prime message. The people in the U.S. who are food insecure generally don't even register to vote and all too many of the voters couldn't even give it a passing thought. Let's, instead, go with the price of eggs. milk, housing, insurance, etc,, all Trump promised to cure on Day One, plus his prized Securities Markets.
I'm sure you know the organization Food First, co-founded by Frances Moore Lappé. They have been explaining for decades that food insecurity is a. political, not an agricultural, problem. The world grows enough food; it just isn't properly distributed or consumed, and in this country at least about 1/3 is thrown out. So you are very right to put "Politics" in your title!
Best of luck with your procedure. And why are you letting "hate mail" get to you? If people - even those who are friends - couldn't let you know they disagreed with your take on Houlihan's vote in a civil, straight-forward, professional manner - screw 'em! Seriously. Real friends wouldn't attack you, even if they didn't like your defense of her. And you don't owe others any consideration, either, if they made accusatory personal comments..
I love this: Feed the Hungry! What a great way to start as a push back against this MAGA party. I will never understand a party that can support taking food from infants and children. The Republicans are a cruel bunch.

Donate or volunteer at the Chester County Foodbank. There are many ways you can help there and reach the people who need food.
Please eat Fiona❤️

My thoughts are with you and your medical team.
