Finally reading this-benefit of me-ta fast. I’d held off on some reading as I’m already having sleeping/anxiety issues. I mean, What in The Name Of What is this dystopian clown show??? (no reply needed, just venting) Many thanks for your coherent analyses.

I don't know anyone sleeping well now, except dogs, who exclusively live in the moment. Please be kind to yourself!

This wasn't even a Convicted Felon thing -- this is HUNDREDS of members of the House and Senate who didn't read a 4 page bill. Idiots. They only hurt themselves and their master.

Oh... I'm sure they read it. And they won't have to release anyone. The Private Prison System will have their tents and cots with barbed wire fences up before the ink is dry. Who do you think is going to get that 3.2 billion?

I know you're thinking it's the private prison people. My more overarching issue is that they won't be able to implement any immigration legislation because they gave the state AGs the right to sue. We both know that there are good and bad AGs...but ONE good AG will shut all sorts of things down. You'd think they would have kept the power.

As an aside, the next deportation bill they're looking at relates to domestic violence - and it's opposed by all sorts of DV groups, and churches, and others. The problem is that if someone is beating up their spouse/significant other and that person tries to get away and slightly injures the abuser, BOTH people are subject to deportation. It's beyond cruel.
