Is a battery powered device available and what is the comparable cost? Did any of the officials presiding ask that of you or make any other response?

Yes, there are battery powered devices -- and the major cost is that the trucks for the landscapers would need to either have additional battery packs, or chargers. The initial cost is more than they'll want to spend, but the payback is only a couple years.

I'm part of a group that takes turns going to the BOS meetings and presenting all sorts of "citizen thoughts" on how bad the GBP are for the environment, for health, and we don't generally talk about the nuts and bolts of the changeover.

After the meeting, one of the Board members came over to me and said he hadn't recognized me in my mask, until I said my name. He said he hadn't been aware I was well enough to be out and about and he was glad to see me. So, I told him I was VERY SERIOUS about this -- and he said they just needed more local residents to push for it. I am pretty sure we can get this done some time next year.

I have hated those gas powered blowers for years. It's encouraging tom know that some places have successfully banned them. Thanks for bringing this to our attention--wil definitely share it!!

Thanks!! I'd like to see them banned nationwide. There is NO upside to them.

Good for you!

It's easy -- just show up -- I knew most of the Board - had worked on their elections!

Very interesting. Given the nuts and bolts, I think it should be a nationwide campaign. If it is truly net cost effective, it would make millions of people a lot happier, especially when they are wakened in the AM or during a sound nap or while watching a desired TV program.
