Vice President Harris said that she would take a cognitive test and “would challenge him to take the same one.” Source. I was saddened that she didn’t offer to take an IQ test if he would, too. That would be OH! so much more telling.
That may be true, but there are plenty of very smart, yet very rich guys like Buffett and Gates and still vote their pocketbook and support beholden candidates.
Unstated problem is that there are all too many people with high IQs and lots of moolah who are there to convince TFG's minions that he is God's gift to America.
I don't think there are too many high IQ richer-than-rich people. They may have an area of expertise; they may have done well in the arena that earned them the millions or billions -- but I don't believe that they're Mensa material (or higher.)
Take Elon -- rich? Sure. High IQ? Doubtful. No truly smart people would have crashed Twitter down the toilet. In addition, HE doesn't do the actual WORK that gave us things like Starlink, Tesla, and SpaceX -- the parlayed the family money to which he had access and hired the right people.
When I first started working after college, I had a co-worker who was in a very unhappy marriage. Long story, but the Cliff Notes version is that she tricked him into getting married, and punished him for all sorts of slights - he had a calendar over his desk where he was marking off the days until the youngest kid left for college and he could move out. The point is that she wasn't very smart in any way, shape or form. What she WAS was conniving ("Like a fox", the husband would say.)
I've seen many people like her over the years -- not smart, but able to manipulate people to get them to do what they want them to.

Bill Gates gave $50 million to the Harris campaign. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/10/22/us/elections/bill-gates-future-forward-kamala-harris.html
Buffett has not endorsed this cycle, after endorsing Obama and Clinton in recent elections, and after a scathing takedown of Trump in 2016. He's afraid of deep fakes. https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/international/global-trends/warren-buffett-finally-reveals-his-2024-us-election-endorsement-and-it-is-a-surprise-for-many-kamala-harris-donald-trump/articleshow/114769421.cms?from=mdr
