It’s generous of Montana legislators to conduct medical experiments on their own constituents, in order to buttress the arguments in favor of vaccination in other states!

That **IS** one way to look at it! Thanks for the silver lining.

Have you read the article, "Rage against the Algorithm' by Lois Parshley in The Lever? It came to my email today. It's a deep read about the work of Kevin De Liban who has investigated and compiled numerous instances of AI being incorrect in making critical decisions. As AI is used in nearly half of government agencies and tRump removed existing regulations on his first day in office, it is deeply troubling. The abundant use of AI is also one of the reasons being used to fire federal employees. "We have AI, why do we need real people? They're redundant."

What could go wrong? Snark intended.

I haven't, but I have direct personal knowledge of how WRONG AI can be. In my current job, they are looking at ways to leverage AI, and in a few cases, it's been required that I test certain use cases. While the internal AI program had been trained on proprietary data, it was only able to regurgitate - and thus could not provide context nor conclusions. In addition, in testing "simple" tasks, AI was unable to make minor adjustments, for example, setting up repeating meetings but with differing attendees. It was quicker, and more accurate to do the work manually.

It's not JUST that AI is often wrong -- whoever is looking at the data needs the smarts to "know things". For example, Elmo was convinced that 150 year old people were collecting Social Security, since he didn't know that the program was written in COBOL (and for those of us who know COBOL we know this) -- COBOL has problems with large numbers, and using zeroes. SIGH.

Thanks for the article information, I'm going to pull it down, read it when I have a chance but definitely save it to my "I HATE AI" folder.

We can only hope that der Fuehrer Trompf has taken a step too far over all lines when he, as King, called Zelensky a Dictator and claimed that Ukraine started the war with Russia. Perhaps some of his minions in Congress will get off their knees, remove heir lips from his Majesty's rear, and begin to exercise oversight in reaction to his obvious manifestations of senility and/or narcissistic delusions.

There is a mRNA vaccine in trials now that shows preliminary evidence of fighting prostate cancer. Good luck Montana

Thanks for that information, I had been unaware. I do know that there is an mRNA vaccine that is being successfully being used in pancreatic cancer patients, POST their initial surgery, and it is buying time for a disease that normally is fatal pretty quickly. They are going to leverage the vaccine and see if they can get an actually preventative vaccine out of it. For now, it only works on patients who already have pancreatic cancer.
