I think he and cronies may want a recession because then they pick up land/stock etc at bargain prices.

You're actually more optimistic than I am. I agree that OF COURSE they want to bargain hunt in a recession. But I don't think it's going to be a recession, I think it's going to be stagflation -- and I know you remember the late 70's-early 80's just like I do --

The think about recession is that people lose their jobs, and things end up less expensive as vendors try to sell "something-anything" - and interest rates go down to encourage spending.

BUT

The problem here is that things are now (and will continue) MORE expensive and about to be MORE scarce. AND increased unemployment -- meaning that even with zero percent interest rates, people won't be buying -- the stuff won't be on the shelves, and what's there will be much more expensive. Meaning inflation - and the only two ways to beat that are government spending and much higher interest rates (a la Paul Volker) --

SO -- I think he's going for complete destruction, not just a recession.

TOTALLY think the pee tape is real. I've been saying that for years now. When he slunk out of that private-no-interpreters-no-one-in-the-room-but-trump-and-putin Helsinki meeting, that's when he found out. His body language was all slumped over. Also I made 16 posts (3 a day) out of that Pritzker speech on our CCMF public fb page - so many spot on sound bites!!!!

The speech is AWESOME. I don't know if you know this -- but do you remember when Rod Blagojevich tried to sell Barack Obama's Senate seat. Pritzker had dabbled in politics (he came in 3rd out of 5 for the seat Jan Schakowsky won) and was a donor - but wasn't really looking for a career in politics. Rod tried to get JB to buy the seat, which appalled him, and he was a huge NO. Years later, he ran for governor.

I didn't remember Pritzker's involvement in that ahole's antics - but I did notice that trump pardoned him. Perhaps he'll be awarded a cabinet position. All the Best People.

He wanted to be Ambassador to Serbia (where his people are from) but he came in second in the beauty contest.

Talk about conspiracy theories: Putin the source of the tariffs? Why not? Russia got off tariff free, an oversight no doubt. As for the Congressional big spenders, they don't necessarily have a real home in D.C. so have to eat out, so considering the price of food and drink these days they are just struggling to survive. They make it up with cuts in the National Budget.

I don't think Putin was the source, per se. Shitler has loved tariffs for 40+ years, since he doesn't read, and therefore doesn't know how they DIDN'T work in the past. I think just that Putin's instructions were to weaken the US - and it all went hand in glove. There was no "convincing" necessary -- it would be trying to convince you or me that we should drink a cup of coffee.

I saw Gov Pritzler’s speech when he made it. Impressive & he hit the nail on its head. Is he running for president?

Probably. He's great on the stump, his record is terrific, he can self-fund AND raise money, he's got the organization. However, he's Jewish, and that's a problem for a lot of people. HOWEVER - what he's GOING to do for now is to be the ultimate thorn in the side of the fascist regime, and make Illinois a paragon of how states should operate to protect their citizens and others who live there.
