It looks like Elise Stefanik and Mike Waltz will be removed from the House of Representatives. She for UN Ambassador (which requires Senate confirmation), and he as National Security Advisor (which does not). No matter how the House’s final count turns out, it will be close. Taking Rethuglicans out of the House decreases their numbers.
While Senators are appointed quickly to open seats by the Governor of that state, for House members, there’s a process. Sometimes a primary, sometimes the party directly selects nominees, and then a general election is scheduled1. This takes months.
The Orange Menace would know this if he could do basic math, which, of course, he can’t, as shown by his six (so far) bankruptcies. Plus, it’s likely that he doesn’t care, and might appoint even more House members. I’m rooting for it!
The Orange Menace values loyalty (to him, and only a one way street) above all else, and he is entirely transactional. If we’re really lucky, he’ll pluck 10 House members for various positions. Of course, his Homeland nomination is not up for grabs since he picked Kristy Noem the dog killer for that. Congratulations to South Dakota.
Just a fun tidbit.
The process varies by state.
I WISH he'd get ten out of there, but unfortunately one of his loyalists will warn him. And unfortunately he can afford a couple more without endangering their majority.
Trump continues to show us that he has poor critical thinking ability.
