To paraphrase a phrase: Here's the rub !

Why aren't VP Harris and Gov. Walz talking about people like Jared Koopman instead of repeatedly repeating political slogans and pie in the sky promises? There are a mountain high of great stories to tell about this administration that have never been brought to the attention of the great unwashed. Biden was a lousy messenger and the VP did not try to outdo him. People are impressed by real stories of unusual accomplishment, not slogans and promises. Perhaps it's too late, but this campaign leaves me cold and scared.

The stories won't work on the voters who need to be reached. I heard Maria Kumar the other day saying that they'd been polling young Latino men, and hearing that they didn't believe Kamala Harris could handle the economy. When it was pointed out to them that THEIR moms had handled the checkbook, and made sure food was on the table, that made a huge difference.

A lot of it is about permission structure. The young black and Hispanic men don't look at the world the way you and I do. In addition, the uneducated white guys need a different thrust.

Telling these groups about successes doesn't have an impact because it doesn't impact THEM directly. They are so inwardly focused that they cannot think globally.

It's close, really close. I can't talk about anything other than PA, but here we have identified the undecideds across the state and are talking to them one on one. Fingers crossed. And I think Obama will help!
