Hi Jessica--I am reading past posts and came across this:
"I’m probably canceling my subscription to the Times. I mean, not the puzzles, but everything else. Like Hobby Lobby, Chic Fil A, and Tractor Supply, they cannot have my money. In the Times case, for the Editorial Board being in the tank for Convicted Felon Trump."
I just googled to find out about the Tractor Supply controversy and am very confused. It seems like the company is being harassed for doing good by the LBGTQ+ community...please fill me in. I, like you, am considering cancelling my NYTimes subscription and will NEVER step foot in a Hobby Lobby or a Chick-Fil-A. But am confused about Tractor Supply.
I have the Tractor Supply statement but can't seem to embed it in a comment. Basically, it says they are doing away with all DEI initiatives, no data to the Human Right Campaign, and rescinding their carbon emissions goals. Here's an article about it... https://www.cnn.com/2024/07/11/business/tractor-supply-dei-climate-lgbtq/index.html
I'm still vacillating on the Times. I've read the Times every day since I was in grade school, and we had to bring in an article and talk about it for 3rd grade class discussion. It's an incredibly hard thing to do -- so inculcated into me.
