This feels performative. She received a lot of blowback from her vote, and now she's introducing a resolution to see if the rules are applied equally. This effort feels futile. I would be highly surprised if Johnson let the resolution pass, and even if he did, it would automatically be shut down by the GOP. I acknowledge her attempt at consistency, but it is too little, too late. Al Greene was censured, not just for breach of protocol, but also because he's a Democrat. The GOP won't double-cross their own.

Would she have done this were she not called out (loudly) on her vote? I wonder. The bottom line is the vote for censure was the vote of 10 white people telling a black man how to act. Personally I think that's disgraceful.

She has SO MUCH integrity. She is consistent and she works her butt off. Her record overwhelmingly is on the right side of history. This vote was about her moral compass telling her that keeping a level of civility and rules of decorum means something. Especially with her background in the military. I completely reject that this has anything to do with her race being white (which I have seen mentioned in various places). She explained herself honestly and I take her for her word. Definitely do not want to lose a person like her fighting for me or this country’s citizens. We need her as a force against the corrupt/authoritarian/fascist/oligarchy nightmare that is currently invading our government.

No excuse for her joining Republicans to censured him in the first place.

Tired of outside voices trying to sway the voters in Chrissy's district. We stand by her. Thanks for sharing this story, Jessica.

I won't go as far as primarying her, but she needs to know she has constituents who are not happy.

Do you have any idea how much she's done for Chester and Berks Co. PA since having been elected? Do you have any idea what it was like here before she was? I've lived here for 40 years and I'd fight like hell to keep someone as experienced, thoughtful, caring, and principled as our representative. So I would ask you to please not speak like an authority when you have no clue.

First of all Alison I lived in Chester County up until four years ago for over 20 years. So the last thing I am is clueless. I know exactly how republican the county was when I moved there and what it was like when we left. I've gone door to door for Democrats in the district and registered people to vote. I worked the voting polls when I was 18 years old and just allowed to vote.

I get E-mails almost daily from people running for Congress all across the country asking for donations to their campaigns even though I don't live there. I've given to some of those campaigns. Am I supposed to give money and not have the opportunity to question their policies?

Silencing debate is in the Republican playbook.

My apologies Victor. I appreciate your background and work here. Thanks for sharing. My frustration is with the rigidity of and number of responses to Chrissy's singular act. She is a whole person, and a human being who is doing the best she can in this fraught time. My words were too strong, and I am sorry that I unfairly lumped you in with other 'influencers' whose voices were dominating social media but who simplify every issue to black and white, good and evil. I'm fearful that the tendency of the Democrats to fracture and attack each other at the first perceived sign of weakness is going to keep us from success. This is literally what the other side wants us to do.

Thank you Alison. Most importantly we need to keep our minds open and listen to each other.

I stand with Chrissy until she no longer shares my values and she does. Now, if she gets on a plane and heads to Mar-la-go, I will rethink my support.
