Action you can take TODAY
While SCOTUS made the worst decision since Dred Scott, and if you don’t know what that was, you should, the Senate has things it can do in light of the immunity decision. You can take action TODAY by calling your Senators.
You can ask them to call Senator Durbin (who heads Judiciary) and ask him to investigate Alito and Thomas.
Here are some message Ideas to use on your call1:
Congress cannot just accept a corrupt court and I ask that you and the Senate do everything in your power to expose that corruption and root it out.
Samuel Alito has shown time and time again that his loyalty is to Donald Trump and the MAGA movement. Yet, he’s ruling on cases related to January 6, like whether or not Trump has immunity for inciting the insurrection.
Alito cannot trust him to be an impartial arbiter of the law and we cannot trust the Supreme Court while he is on the bench.
I’m counting on you to call on Senator Durbin and the Senate Judiciary Committee to do everything in their power to investigate Alito and the other corrupt MAGA justices. They must uncover the truth and hold these justices accountable.
You can also ask your Senators to change the text of Senate Rule 22, which allows for cloture, or use “the nuclear option” which suspends cloture for a specific reason. Side note: the nuclear option was last used in 2013 by Harry Reid, and in 2017 by Moscow Mitch McConnell related to judicial appointments.
Here is how it was used in 2013:
Mr. REID. I raise a point of order that the vote on cloture under Rule XXII for all nominations other than for the Supreme Court of the United States is by majority vote.

The SCOTUS ruling on immunity cannot stand, we must use the nuclear option to allow for the appointment of four additional justices to the Supreme Court.
Please ask Leader Schumer to raise a point of order under Rule 22 for Supreme Court nominees.
