There is no doubt in my mind that both Bibi and Von Shitzenpants want to move the Palestinians out of Gaza and turn its 141 sq miles into a giant resort with multiple golf courses. They might want to put other things there, like a military base, but Bibi’s goal is really to displace the Palestinians, and the Convicted Felon’s goal is to grift the development. Since MAGA world likes cute sayings, they might consider “Ethnic Cleansing for Condos”.
Remember, that before the most recent war (do we call it a war?) there were about 2 million human beings in Gaza.
As usual, implementation is the issue here.
When I hear the Orange Menace spout out a lot of his ideas, after I immediately understand that they are illegal, ill-conceived, and aren’t going to happen, I think to myself, “WOW! If only I could have those kinds of thoughts AND BELIEVE THEM! Like I’ll snap my fingers, and my house will be spotlessly clean, (including dog hair), all by itself.” Sorry, I digress.
First, as we’ve covered before, Jordan and Egypt aren’t going to willingly take in Palestinians. All Jordanians remember, or know about, Black September, the civil war between Jordan and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) headed by Yasser Arafat, back in 1970 - 1971. Not to mention the Lebanon Civil War that ran from 1975-1990. Taking in Palestinians, beyond having to provide for refugees and the money that will cost, is a threat to the sovereignty of the governments. As refugees, the Palestinians should fall under UNWRA, but as we all know, UNWRA has its own problems. Not to mention that the US would bear responsibility for the refugees, and for that, they’d need USAID. Just saying that these idiots DO NOT THINK THINGS THROUGH.
The cudgel the Orange Menace will try to use is cutting off foreign aid to Jordan and Egypt. Notice that the Convicted Felon didn’t say that other Arab countries should take in Palestinians. That’s because he has nothing financial to hold over the heads of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, and the other oil-rich Gulf states. For the same reason, Von Shitzenpants has not mentioned sending Palestinians to Chile, the country outside the Middle East with the largest population of Palestinians, albeit not a large recipient of US foreign aid.
In addition, sending American troops to Gaza to forcibly remove people WHO LIVE THERE is not only a violation of international law, but is also called “invading a foreign country that never did anything to you” and thus a war crime. Since he’s pulling us out of virtually everything international, will other countries consider sending troops to prevent our annexation of Gaza? Probably not, but my guess is there will be some posturing. I will give him one thing: he campaigned on opposition to “nation building” and he isn’t breaking that promise, he’s into “nation destruction”.
And then, let’s think about the logistics of development. We are ALL too well aware that the Convicted Felon is a failure as a developer. Where will he get the money to rebuild? From his private stash? From Elmo? Certainly not one dime from any other country. While he can deploy an invading force, and while US soldiers know how to build certain things, my guess is “luxury hotels” is not in their bailiwick. Not to mention how it would go over with the US public if their tax dollars were being spent on a private vanity project.
Before anything can be successfully built, there needs to be a plan to replace infrastructure (water, utilities, roads, etc.) and “planning” is not anywhere on his list of abilities. Where will the supplies necessary to build the infrastructure come from? No country will sell to him for this project, and if you look around, we don’t have the will, nor the supplies, to harden our electric grid, build necessary housing, fix our own failing roads, bridges and tunnels, etc.
All of the above is why things aren’t going to work out the way he wants. But let’s think about what he really wants here. First, he hates all Muslims, and almost all Palestinians identify as Muslim. So, there’s that hatred thing. Second, like most things, he wants something else, and is throwing out the worst possible option so people will be more accepting of something less horrific. One thing he hasn’t considered is that the signers of the Abraham Accords will likely pull out of them. He’ll eventually back track.
Mostly though, the press and the chattering class chase the most recent shiny object, so this is the current topic. Taking our eyes off the theft of the US Treasury, the purges of employees, and the other domestic carnage.
One last thing: as I’ve written before, in October and early November I spoke with voters for whom Gaza was their issue. For many of them, they were so pissed at President Biden’s actions in Gaza that they were either leaving that line blank, or voting for the Orange Menace. Everyone in that camp (as opposed to those people who ended up voting for Vice President Harris) told me that nothing could be worse that what President Biden did, despite my exhortations of what could happen under a fascist regime. While I won’t do this, I still have all their names, addresses and phone numbers, and wish I could bring myself to call and say, “I told you so.” But I won’t. Oh to be a fly on the wall in Dearborn this week.
So put this on the back burner for now, UNLESS you live in Pennsylvania. If you do, call that collaborator John Fetterman, who is the sole Senator so far to support invading Gaza. I am not making this up. My Resistbot said:
How dare you support the invasion of Gaza, and ethnic cleansing, in violation of international law, so that your lord and master can develop yet another golf course?
I would love to call those people who didn't vote or voted for He Who Must Not be Named. I have lots to say...
Got this from a friend in Israel:--
Morning All, just received this from our friend and jeweler Itsik Levy. An excellent businessman:
Good morning my friends, As they say in English, Here are my 2 cents on Trump's comments on the voluntary or (less than voluntary) immigration of Gaza residents: As a person who has been involved in negotiations all his adult life around the world, there are different peoples with different mentalities with whom one negotiates differently from another. I will give you 3 examples from dozens of peoples and tens of thousands of deals I have experienced in my life on the art of negotiation:
When you ask to close a deal at a price of 100, let's say, to a Japanese client you would offer the deal at 100. You must not deviate from the number in the slightest. Sticking to the final number will represent to the Japanese client your seriousness and credibility in the deal. When you present the same deal to an American, and you want to achieve that 100 as a final result, you will offer the deal at 115, and the negotiation will come down to a convergence around 100 as a round number. There is a gentlemanly understanding and agreement between the parties that both sides need to understand and respect each other out of a desire to reach a number that is agreed upon as fair to both parties.
Negotiations with Arabs are a completely different negotiation. When you want to reach the desired result that suits you, the Arab customer will offer to buy from you for 1 and you will offer him the deal for 1,000. The Arab will go up to 10, and you will go down to 900. In the end, the Arab customer, after a long negotiation, will offer 100 (10% of what you initially requested) and you will agree. He thought he made the deal of the century and you finally got what you wanted….
Trump has no interest, and he is not going to exile a single Palestinian from Gaza. Trump wants the hostages without any Israeli compensation, will demand and probably accept the exile of all Hamas out of Gaza as Israel is willing, and will make sure to bring Saudi Arabia and the UAE into Gaza and rebuild Gaza with Arab money with hotels owned by his family, and will make tens of billions in real estate deals for his associates. He will achieve the 100% he wanted for himself and for Israel from the beginning, and the Palestinians will achieve his "concession" in everything related to the exile out of Gaza.
He is a businessman. Not an idiot, and he understands well the limitations of power... He has 4 years to make a large sum of cash, and receive the Nobel Peace Prize. This is how businessmen think. Practical. Pragmatic. To the point. Unfortunately - there are none, neither in our regions nor in European countries and the rest of the world. Luckily there is one like this in the US, and thank God it is for our benefit! Cut and save👌
Best Regards,
