DA Bragg wrote to Judge Merchan on Monday, saying that the DA’s office takes no position on the Trump team request to delay the 18 September sentencing until after the election, and that they defer to the judge’s discretion. Full letter here. This means that Judge Merchan will rule on whether the case is impacted by the insane and idiotic SCOTUS decision on immunity, and a few days later, may pass sentence. Or he may delay.
On Sunday night, the DNC projected images on Trump tower in Chicago. Below is one, there were many, including “Harris Walz - joy and hope.” I hope they keep it up all week.
The Oversight, Judiciary and Ways and Means committees, led by Gym Jordan and Jim Comer, have said that President Biden has engaged in “impeachable conduct” - the report ran 291 pages, and has no smoking gun. There are not enough votes to even bring it to a floor vote, so that’s done. Andy Ogles introduced articles of impeachment against Kamala Harris. That, too, is going nowhere fast.

Convention, Night 1: PLEASE LEAVE COMMENTS! Substack polls have severe character limits.
Raucous and perfect send off for the Harris-Walz ticket. Entertaining and informative. On the other hand, it demonstrated the cruelty of the political process in that the supremely accomplished President Biden came over merely as an afterthought rather than the generator of a terrific record to run on. For me, having once had a personal relationship with Senator Biden and with Grandson Brendon accompanying him on his rounds during the 2020 Primary from South Carolina to New Hampshire and places in between, it was disappointing. I ;would have preferred a demonstrated passing of the torch from my generation and Biden's to the new generations of Harris and Walz.
